The Swift is named after the local Swift River. It is tucked in a stand of evergreens within a 128 acre parcel. Chandler Brook runs through the majority of the above mentioned parcel and meanders through a large marshland. You will enter the yurt through the front door using the door code provided before check in.
Inside the yurt you will find a kitchenette complete with a draining sink, Stanley insulated water jug, propane camp cook stove, enameled dinnerware set, Stanley cookware and coffee French press, silverware, and serving utensils. It is fully furnished with a bar table, 6 barstools, couch, 2 arm chairs, 2 coffee tables, and a timber frame loft area! The loft area has a lower queen bed and an upper queen bed. *Note* bedding is not provided. Up to two dogs are welcomed with a pet fee of $20/night per dog. Doggy bags are provided for pet clean up and are located at the front door. Ample hooks are placed throughout the yurt for hanging jackets and drying wet gloves and hats near the stove. The yurt is equipped with a small solar system that powers the 12v LED lights and 4 USB outlets for charging phones, laptops, and iPads. *Note* guests should bring any adapters needed to plug into USB ports. A guest binder inside offers instructions for the solar power, stoves, a site map, and Bethel area dining and activities guides. Solo stoves are provided for outdoor fires year round. Along the stone seating around outside, guests will find 4 adirondack chairs under strings of lights along with stacks of firewood and cast iron fireplace tools. Baskets of fire starter and kindling and lighters or matches are located inside. All provided at no additional fee!
The side door gives access to the wheelchair accessible ramp. The bathhouse is directly across from the ramp and offers convenient wheeled access to the bathhouse. The interior of the rustic/farmhouse style bathhouse feels warm and inviting. Stained concrete floors are throughout and guests will enjoy the warmth ofradiant heat. The bathhouse has large rustic tub sinks for washing dishes and filling the water jug provided in each yurt. It houses a ladies’ and gent’s side, each with 2 private hot showers and 2 toilet stalls. There is a handicap accessible toilet stall available in both bathrooms.
Guests will enjoy the surrounding forest and trails that we continue to expand. Our primary goal at Western Maine Yurts is to provide our guests with a four-season lodging option that is as connected to nature as possible. We aim to give a more luxurious and convenient camping/glamping experience where you can enjoy a hot shower after a day of outdoor activities. We hope you will enjoy unplugging from the demands of daily life and pause to listen to the rain on the roof, birds singing in the morning, and the breeze blowing in the trees. Take the time to enjoy a cozy cuddle on the couch with your favorite beverage, and get out and explore all that Western Maine and the Bethel area have to offer.

The yurt was so comfortable; warm, clean and all the basics for fixing meals, as well as extra touches to keep kids and dogs happy. Lovely clean and warm bathhouse just steps from our yurt. Would happily stay here again.
Thank you! We appreciate your business and hope you will be back again!
Very clean, very warm, comfy beds, clean-free hot showers, and the bath house was my favorite!
Thank you! We hope you'll be back again!
We loved our stay at the Swift. It seems that every little thing was considered when building and outfitting this yurt. The kitchen had all the little things we needed in terms of pans, pots, and cleaning and drying tools. The bed was super comfortable and we were very cozy and warm. The heated and very clean bath house with hot showers was a total bonus that I had not fully expected. We came with our two young children and felt safely away from any speeding traffic. The top bunk was very sturdy but might not be ideal for a young child sleeping by themselves due to the height. They have done a lovely job creating a side rail for this bed, we just have a wiggly and small kid. We were able to happily utilize the couch. We were so pleased with our entire stay. We hope to come back soon!
In a last minute turn of events, we decided to stay in Bethel an extra night. Tricia was beyond helpful when it came to our last minute booking. Communication was prompt and clear, and the check-in/check-out process was simple and seamless. The yurt along with the bathhouse were absolutely spotless. They’ve truly thought of everything. Comfortable mattresses, kitchen accessories, and cozy lighting hung throughout the space. I’ve already shared the website with two friends, and would absolutely stay again. Such a unique experience. Highly recommend staying here (and waking up to enjoy the trails right onsite).
Thanks so much! We're so glad it worked out that you could visit our property and stay another night in Bethel.
We loved staying at the Swift. Nicely appointed Yurts, walking trails were perfect for the little ones. Yurts, bath house and grounds were clean and very well maintained. Staff were easy to talk to and very attentive. We'll be back!
Thank you! We hope you will be back again!
The yurt was a super tidy and cozy space - the fairy lights lent it a very homey feeling even while the wind howled outdoors, and the bathroom space was by far the nicest campground or campground adjacent bathroom i've ever been in. We didn't spend long in the yurt because we were busy with a friends wedding, but we spent a very relaxing morning there reading and hanging out. Very pleasant - it would make an excellent base for exploring the mountains in the area. Just remember to bring bedding and it's super delightful!
Thank you so much! We are so glad you found us and stayed while visiting the area. We would love to have you back if you have the opportunity to get away to the Bethel area for more rest or outdoor exploration!
The yurt and the bathhouse were both in great condition - very clean and comfortable. It was pretty cold during our stay and the wood stove heated the place really well and we were re-stocked with plenty of wood. Just enough amenities to be very comfortable (furniture, lighting, kitchen items, etc.), but still felt simple enough and disconnected. Ideally, there would be a bit more space/privacy between the yurts, but even being in the closest yurt to the bathhouse it wasn't overly noisy or disruptive. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Thank you Julie! We hope you will be back.
Thank you for a great service. We had fantastic time!
